Mountain adventure sports: hiking

Read the following post with me to learn everything you need to know about hiking, because it’s a sport that takes place entirely outdoors and is within reach of all of us.

If you form a team and you get in touch with nature, you are motivated to reach your goal regardless of the outcome or obstacles, you are already practicing adventure sports. Motor skills, good physical development, endurance and most importantly good mental preparation are all essential for this sport.

Mountain sports

The mountain sports mentioned above are totally outdoor sports and can be said to be done by anyone who meets their requirements. Below we list the different ways.

Hiking

Hiking is one of the least complicated and most competitive activities among human beings, because it seeks to connect people with nature, thus achieving a close connection with the heritage and cultural elements of the area they want to explore.

Mountain climbing

This adventure sport is basically a mountain hike that requires a certain physical strength, in addition to a great knowledge of the area we want to explore. There are different scales of mountaineering.

  • Low mountain: limited to short trips to get to know the local flora and fauna, suitable for hiking.
  • Half mountain: this scale has a higher point, in which case you must wear safety tools.

The zones or areas can be divided into four and help you to know the necessary equipment, as the case may be.

  • Parade zone, including short trips and hikes.
  • Climbing zone, classic sports and ice climbing.
  • Resistance zones, i.e., mesas, marathons, and triathlons.
  • Specific areas, including canyon rafting, mountain biking and ski traverses.

Hiking groups can be found anywhere in the world. If you are a fan of the sport, you will find groups through social networks that organize different activities depending on the location you want to visit.

What are hiking trails?

Hiking trails are routes that have been explored and most of them are monitored and marked to avoid any accidents. In some countries/regions, there are associations and clubs that offer short hiking packages with different levels of difficulty, depending on the physical preparation and endurance you want to participate. In most cases, they can be found on the Internet.

Hiking clothing is slightly dependent on the weather and the location you plan to visit. Long pants and long-sleeved T-shirts are usually recommended to protect us from the sun and sting, as well as the use of boots with non-slip soles, glasses, hats, caps and fabrics or scarves that can be covered. For refreshing or collecting interesting samples from any rocks or things that catch our attention.

We should not confuse hiking with hiking or hiking because they are very different. When we talk about hiking trails, we are referring to long mountain trails whose journey may take several days. Unlike hiking or trekking, trails and routes are short and less strenuous.
